Ucraft Glossary
404 page
When you visit a website that doesn’t exist or couldn't be found on the server because the webpage was moved or deleted, the broken link redirects to a 404 error page.
You can customize the content and design of your 404 page.
Account settings
The area where you manage your profile, password security, billing info, and other account-specific settings.
Account notifications
Notifications that alert you when others clone, like, follow, comment on, or interact with your public websites.
Ancestor
Any widget positioned higher in the widget hierarchy.
Background section
A section of the Style tab that contains CSS properties that affect an element's background, such as its background image, gradient, and fill color.
Basic widgets
A section that contains the widgets that serve as the fundamental building blocks of a website.
Blocks
The section of the Content Editor/CMS where you can explore the ready-made blocks, add pre-saved collection items and pop-ups with ease.
Border section
A section of the Style tab that contains CSS properties used to style a widget’s border, such as its border style, color, and radius.
Breakpoints
A feature in the Visual Editor that helps you adjust the website’s layout or style for different screen sizes.
Content Editor/CMS
Ucraft’s content management system that can be accessed through the Dashboard by clicking the Channels button in the bottom left corner and selecting CMS.
CMS Collection page
A dynamic page that is automatically created for each Collection item. When you design a Collection Page, all the pages created for each item will have the same template, but different content.
CSS (Cascading Style Sheets)
The rules that define how a webpage's widgets are displayed in a browser.
CSS filter
A CSS property that specifies visual effects like blur and saturation.
Canvas
The space in the center of the Visual Editor where your site's design and content are displayed.
Checkbox
A form element that lets users select one or multiple options.
Child
A widget positioned directly below the current widget in the hierarchy.
Class
A selector type that affects all widgets with that class.
Collection
A content type (blog post, portfolio item, etc.) represented by a group of fields defined by the user. Once created, you can add individual Collection items.
Collection form field
An individual field within a Collection. You' can select which fields to display in the Collection template pages.
Collection item
An individual item within a Collection. For example, in a Blog post Collection, the Collection items are individual blog posts.
Collection list
A Ucraft widget that lets you display content from a Collection.
Collection list layout
A layout that lets you control how Collection items are displayed inside a Collection List. The default layout option has each item covering the full width of the parent element. You can change this to display items in 2, 3, 4, or 6 columns.
Collection URL
The slug that represents the parent folder for your individual Collection item URLs. For example, if you created a Collection called Blog Posts, the URL would be website.com/blog-posts, while a Collection item URL would be website.com/blog-posts/post-name.
Collection limits
By default, Collection list displays all items in a Collection, but you can add limits to control the number of Collection Items that are displayed.
Color field
A field used in Collections. Add the Color field to a Collection to let collaborators use a color picker to style elements like background color, text, and border color.
Columns
Columns let you create sections of content that sit side by side on your Ucraft website, like the columns in newspapers. You can choose the number and width of columns.. You can also control how they are displayed on smaller screens.
Container
A widget that contains content.
Custom font
Fonts that you upload and use on your Ucraft site via the Design System.
DNS (Domain Name System) records
Records that tell the DNS server where each domain should point to. There are a number of different DNS record types. For example, MX records point emails ([email protected]) to the email host.
To point your domain to Ucraft, you'll create 2 types of records: A record to point the root domain (domain.com) to Ucraft and a CNAME record for each subdomain (blog.domain.com, help.domain.com) as well as the full domain (www.domain.com).
Dashboard
The all-in-one interface where you can access, create, and manage all your projects, as well as track orders, create and manage products, access analytics, review the activity log, and more.
Date/Time field
A field used in Collections that lets you display a date and time in a Collection and/or Collection item.
Delete widget
To remove a widget and its content from your website.
Descendant
Any widget positioned lower in the hierarchy.
Design System
The section of the Visual Editor where you can select fonts, color scheme, and UI elements, and apply your preferences across all pages.
Display
A CSS property that specifies a widget's box type. It determines how a widget is displayed out on a page. Options include showing or hiding an element.
Dropdown
A Ucraft component that lets you display a menu that expands to show a list of items when clicked.
Duplicate widget
To copy a widget and its content, styles, and settings.
Effects section
A section in the Style tab that houses CSS properties used to change how a widget appears, including its opacity, size, and rotation.
Favicon
A 32x32 px image that appears in browser tabs, bookmarks, and other browser areas. It's typically a simplified version of the brand logo.
Field label
A form element that looks and behaves like normal text but generates form-specific code on export. It tells website visitors what content to enter into the associated field.
Focus Mode
The Content Editor mode that helps you concentrate on your page content.
Form
A form widget that lets website visitors submit data to your form handler.
Form submission
Occurs when someone sends data through one of your site's forms.

Heading
A typographic widget that describes the topic of a section it introduces.
Height
Defines how tall a widget can be. This can be defined in absolute terms (pixels) or relative terms (ems, rems, percentages, viewport height, or viewport-width).
Help Center
The directory to consult when you need help with Ucraft.
Homepage
The page people see when they visit your site's root domain.
HyperText Markup Language (HTML)
A standard markup language that web browsers use to display websites.
Hyperlink
The <a> tag defines a hyperlink, which is used to link from one page to another. this</a>
Image
A widget that displays graphical files on your website.
Image field
Afield used in Collections for uploading images from your computer and using them as items for your Collection.
Integrations
Third-party tools that you've given access to your personal and/or website data.
Input field
A form element that lets website visitors enter single-line data.

Keyboard shortcuts

Language code
A unique code you can add to your Ucraft site to let browsers, translation apps, and other tools perform language-sensitive tasks.
Margin
Defines the external spacing between a widget’s border and the widgets around it.
Media
A section in the Visual Editor that holds multimedia elements like images, audio, video, and documents.
Meta description
An HTML attribute you can use to give a short description of the contents of a webpage. Search engines often display this in results pages (SERPs).
Meta title
An HTML element that defines a page's title. Search engines usually display this in search results pages (SERPs).
Mobile Touch Icon
A 256x256 px image associated with your website that is displayed on iOS devices and in Safari bookmarks.
Number field
A field used in Collections that lets you insert an integer with or without decimals. Just like the plain text field, it allows you to limit your teammates from adding styles or other inline media.

Padding
Defines the inside spacing between an element's border and the elements inside it.
Pages
The section you use to add static pages to your Ucraft site in the Visual Editor. From here, you can also manage and access System pages and Pop-ups. It's located in the top left corner.
Paragraph
A typography widget that is used for displaying the multi-sentence text content of a webpage.
Preview mode
A feature that allows you to see how your site would be displayed in the browser without leaving the Visual Editor.
Project
A project is a website or eCommerce store that you build with Ucraft.
Publish site
The act of updating your live site to reflect changes made while using the Visual Editor or the Content Editor/CMS

Settings tab
The second tab in the Right Side Panel that allows you to change widget-specific settings such as visibility settings for web browsers and operating systems.
Sitemap.xml
A file that gives web robots information on how a website is organized and allows search engines to find your site data faster and more efficiently. This can be useful for helping a search engine organize your site links when displayed in search results.
Slug
The end part of a URL that uses human-readable words that generally match the webpage's title.
Structure tree
The section of the Visual Editor where you can view your layout hierarchy, organize the website structure and see how elements interact.
Style tab
The first tab in the Right Side Panel that allows you to assign classes to widgets and style them.
Subdomain
The part of a domain that comes before the root domain. e.g. blog.your-site.com is a subdomain whereas your-site.com is the root domain.
Subdomain indexing
When a search engine crawls your site's Ucraft subdomain (e.g. your-site.ucraft.ai).
System pages
Default templates for your site’s 404 page, password-protected page, and others. You can customize the content and design of these pages.
Text area
A form element that allows you to enter multi-line data.
Typography section
A section in the Right Side Panel that houses typography elements such as headings and paragraphs.
Undo
To move backward one step while making changes to a Ucraft site.
URL field
The URL field is used in Collections to link to another page (or area of a page, for anchor links) on the web.
Visual Editor
The advanced made-for-designers editor that houses a range of tools for creating custom designs, including an extensive menu of styles, layouts, colors, fonts, and eye-catching visuals. The Visual Editor can be accessed through the Dashboard by clicking the Channels button in the bottom left corner and selecting Visual Editor.
Video
A widget that displays externally hosted videos such as Youtube and Vimeo.
Width
Width defines how wide a widget can be. This can be defined in absolute terms (pixels) or relative terms (ems, rems, percentages, viewport height, or viewport-width).
